In today’s world, choosing the proper equipment for your communications needs is one of the most difficult decisions an operating company must make. Another important decision is deciding on who will install the equipment. Likewise it is crucial to install service equipment in a timely manner to maximize the cost effectiveness of your newly purchased equipment. This is where RKL Communications Inc. can help.

Operating companies normally have the knowledge for proper installation, but day to day operations will not allow most companies to commit the time needed for a continuous installation. If a company decides to use their own forces, tracking actual costs for the installation can be difficult if the installer must be “pulled off” for a trouble report, return to the installation site, be called out again on another case of trouble, etc. This adds additional cost for multiple trips and time to the project.

If RKL Communications, Inc. is used for the installation, the following is known up front.

1. Cost: When a price is given for the installation, it is the total cost, unless changes or additions are made to the original order. This allows an operating company to budget the installation and know exactly what the costs will be. The cost given includes installation fees, mileage, subsistence, and lodging. Additional fees could be charged, for example, if all materials are not available to complete the installation once notified to start, changes are made to the project, etc. and are not the fault of RKL Communications, Inc.

2. Time: RKL Communications, Inc. will estimate the time to complete the installation. This allows the operating company to plan for cut over and project when services will be available for their customers. Any delays beyond the control of RKL Communications, Inc. will be reported immediately.

3. Acceptance: The equipment will be tested and turned over to the operating company in a working manner. Any defective equipment will be noted with the problem found, placed in the original shipping carton (or equivalent), tagged as defective, and delivered to the operating company for return to the manufacturer for repair.

4. Quality: Installation requirements will be reviewed with the operating company prior to installation start. Alternative installation methods will be discussed and agreed upon before installation start. If during the course of installation changes are necessary, all interested parties will be notified before continuing with the project. We will request periodic inspections during installation to remedy any concerns before the project completion.
